Fish Patties


Mix, crumb, fry! 🐟


On the menu today: Fish Patties! These delicious patties can be made with our Australian Salmon, Tuna or a mix of both! Great to make in bulk and freeze a few so you always have meal on standby.⠀


Ingredients

  • 155g can Australian fish. Choose form our Tuna, Wild Salmon or half of each.

  • 4-5 large potatoes. We love using the red/purple ones.

  • 2-3 eggs beaten

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs

  • 2 tbsp parsley finely chopped

  • A few spring onions finely chopped

  • 1/2 cup plain flour

  • Salt and pepper for seasoning

  • 1/2 cup olive oil

Serving Suggestions

  • Serve with mixed green vegetables or salad

  • If you love sauce try dunking in Tartare or Tomato

Equipment

  • Potato ricer

  • Potato Peeler

  • Knife

  • Mixing bowl

  • Sauce pan

  • Fry Pan

Serving Information

  • ​Serves four to six

Method

  1. Peel potatoes and cut into cubes. Place in cold water and boil until tender. Add 1 tbsp salt in last 5 minutes of cooking

  2. Let cool slightly and press through ricer

  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the potato with the drained fish, parsley, spring onions and salt and pepper to taste

  4. Put a little plain flour on your hands (to prevent sticking) and shape patties into round or oval about 1cm in height

  5. Set up 3 bowls next to each other and coat patties in flour, then beaten eggs and then breadcrumbs

  6. Heat up the oil in a fry pan and shallow fry for about 3 minutes per side until golden brown

  7. Once cooked place on paper towel to absorb excess oil

Tip: If you are going to freeze a few do this once crumbed and before cooking (2nd image below). Be sure to seperate each patty with baking paper before putting into an air tight container in the freezer.
